Corydon Avenue

Corydon is located in the middle of River Heights. Also known as “Little Italy” this district is located 4.4 Km from downtown and 9.6 Km from the airport. Named after a Canadian politician, Coryldon Avenue is Winnipeg’s heart and a sight not to be missed. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba and a member of the provincial cabinet under Premier John Norquay. He worked as a surveyor, then opened many businesses and became a railroad director. He died in 1891 in Winnipeg due to Pneumonia. Thus, in order to honour him the place was named Corydon Avenue.

This place has one of the best shopping and dining places on Lilac Street. To reach Coryldon Avenue from the airport, turn onto Wellington Avenue and turn right onto King Edward Street (Route 90). Keep to the left and continue south over the bridge. Turn left at Coryldon Avenue and head east to Stafford Street. Coryldon Avenue is a place worth people watching and the best time to visit the place would be the summer evenings as the place is crowded with people who are seen having a gala time with their friends and family and seen relishing the best cuisine and gelato in the city. This place has its own mystic charm that will enthral you and the view is completely mesmerizing. The place has little of something for everyone.
